Owner Mohammed Khawaja has over 25 years experience in bringing quality Indian food to South Yorkshire The Chaman Restaurant was opened in April 2007 by Mohammed Khawaja and Navid Kanwal. Mohammed brings with him over 25 years experience in the restaurant business. The family journey started in Leeds before moving to sheffield. At that time it was understood that Mohammed was the pioneer in bringing Indian cuisine to the South Yorkshire city. It was known that he was the first to introduce the concept of open kitchens to the Indian restaurant scene. This knowledge has been used to create the ultimate Chaman Experience.
   
Owner Navid Kanwal ensures that all diners receive a wonderful dining experience at the Chaman Grill Balti in The Wicker, Sheffield. The restaurant owners are very much hands on in creating the success of Chaman Grill Balti. They are complimented by the restaurant staff who show obvious pleasue in their role to provide the very best experience for everyone that visits Chaman. A sign of the popularity can be seen in the number of local dignitaries and sports people that regularly dine at the restaurant including Lord Khan, Clinton Woods and Amir Khan. Local boxing star Clinton Woods officially re-opened the restaurant and the results were simply stunning. Many diners have commented that the decor and atmosphere are probably the best in the city of Sheffield...and the cuisine been rated as amongst the best in the North! The Wicker is an area that has undergone a wonderful transformation with the Chaman Restaurant leading the way in quality and service.

Woods keeps promise to curry up a favour!

CLINTON Woods is hot stuff as World light-heavyweight champion. But he was unable to frequent his favourite curry house, Chaman, for some time after the Sheffield eaterie was hit by last summer's floods which decimated businesses around The Wicker.

He promised owners Navid Kanwal and Mohammed Khawaja that he would officially re-open it when it was firmly back in business. And Woods and his promoter Dennis Hobson did that in a visit to the night spot, recently.
